He Heals the Brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. – Psalm 46:1
Jesus offers us everything we need to live a full, meaningful life, but sometimes we can lose sight of that. When dealing with things like anxiety and depression, relationship issues, past hurts and traumas, or struggles with faith, it can be hard to see a shut window as God’s way of redirecting your life for good. At Seattle Christian Counseling, we hold hope for you as you search for redemption, healing, and purpose in Christ.
Do I Need Counseling?
Most people can benefit from counseling at some point in their lives. In fact, around 20% of adults in the U.S. suffer from mental illness. Things like psychotherapy are very effective in treating a wide-variety of mental health issues, but you don’t have to suffer from mental illness to benefit from Christian counseling. No matter how big or small your battles seem, we offer you a place where you can find strength, guidance, and support for living a full, Christ-filled life.

Does Christian Counseling Work?
If you’ve looked into the effectiveness of counseling, you probably found mixed opinions. There are many things that contribute to how well a person responds to counseling, one of those being the client’s dedication to wellness. In general, research shows that psychotherapy is very effective for treating a wide-variety of mental and behavioral health problems, often providing better results than other medical treatments. So does counseling work? Most would say yes. Add to that the holistic approach that Christian counseling provides, and you have a great hope at finding the results you’re looking for.

Why Christian Counseling?
Did you know that less than 4 in 10 adults with mental illness receive the help they need?
If you are struggling, don’t continue in this alone. Help is available to you. Christian counseling has seen people through many trials and tribulations of this world. When going through these things, it can be difficult to understand why God would allow these things to happen. When these thoughts take hold, it can be easy to question your faith or feel like you have been forsaken by God. It’s in these moments, when approaching the Lord with brokenness and seeking His power for change that you will see the glory of God revealed in your life. As an association of Christian counselors, we are honored to be an instrument of that change.
What happens in counseling?
If you’re nervous about counseling, that’s totally normal. If you’re like most, you’ll feel much better after talking things through with your counselor during the initial session. Your counselor will listen to your story and work with you to create an approach that fits your personal needs and goals. Christian counselors use evidence-based psychotherapy methods and also pull from faith-based resources like prayer and scripture. Ultimately, what happens in counseling depends on your personal goals for treatment.
